Candy Rorrer Thomas

Marital status: Married
Children: 2
Comment: I married William Marshall Thomas in 1962 and later graduated from Roanoke College with a BS in Mathematics and from VA Tech with a MA in Education.  I taught high school mathematics at Shawsville HS in VA and at Glenvar High School near Salem, VA.  We have 2 daughters who followed in my footsteps with my Love of Math:  Sandra T. Amos who graduated from VA Tech with a BS in Math and Computer Science and Karen T. Dunlap who graduated from Roanoke College with a BS in Math and Computer Science also. We have 5 grandchildren:  Brandon, Chad, & Chase Amos and Kaela & Cole Dunlap.  (2 of our grandsons play the trumpet, 2 grandsons play the guitar, and our granddaughter plays the saxophone and piano.  They all enjoy their music probably as much as their Grandma does).  I am an Enrolled Agent and maintained an Income Tax Business until 2005 when I decided to retire.  My husband Marshall has been in aviation most of his life, is a licensed Commercial Pilot and an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Aircraft Mechanic, retired in 1990 from Piedmont Airlines/ US Airways where he was  a Supervisor of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection.  He is now Ride Leader of a Competition Motorcycle Drill Team with the Shriners and we both enjoy riding our motorcycle on short road trips.  Two days a week, I enjoy Volunteering at Richfield Retirement and Recovery Center where I am a Chapel Volunteer and Interim Sunshine Choir Director.  Our 5 grandchildren live close to our Salem VA home, so we are able to enjoy being with them quite often.  We also spend a great deal of time during the summer with our family at the Beach and at our summer home on the Banks of Indian Creek near Greenville, WV.

Sonja Saunders White

Marital status: Widowed
Children: 1
Occupation: Retired
Comment: I can't believe it has been "50" years.  How time flies.  I have been retired for five years.  I can't believe that either.  I am enjoying retirement, but I don't know how I ever worked, I stay busy all  the time.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the class reunion.
